American Association of University Women (AAUW)
The American Association of University Women is a source for funding exclusively for graduate women. The AAUW Educational Foundation supports teachers and activists in local communities, women at critical stages of their careers, and those pursuing professions where women are underrepresented.

Business and Professional Women of New York (BPW)
The BPW Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund, Inc. offers awards of $1000 for advanced graduate study to women who are permanent residents of New York State and citizens of the United States, have a Bachelor's degree, are currently registered full time in graduate studies, and are within two years of completing studies in an advanced graduate degree program at an accredited NYS university. Applicants must show evidence of scholastic ability and need for financial assistance.

Council of Graduate Schools

Grants for Individuals: Education
This Web site contains a list of grants offered to individual educators, such as the "Horace Mann Scholarship Program for Educators," which provides funds to help public and private school teachers who have been teaching for two years continue their education. Scholarships may be used to cover tuition, fees, and other educational expenses.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund
This Web site features scholarship programs for current graduate students pursuing Masters, Doctorate, JD, or other graduate degrees. For example, one scholarship, the College Scholarship Program, offers award amounts that range from $1,000 to $3,000 that are awarded to graduate students of Hispanic heritage.

Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship-Fall 2005
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Graduate Scholarship Program will award 45 to 50 scholarships to recent graduates planning to attend graduate school in fall 2005. Each award will cover a portion of educational expenses, including tuition, living expenses, required fees, and books for the graduate degree chosen. The amount and duration of awards vary by student based on the cost of attendance and the length of the graduate program as well as other scholarships or grants received. The maximum available per student is $50,000 per year and the maximum length is six years.

James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation
Website: This foundation awards fellowships for graduate study of the U.S. Constitution. High school teachers of American History, American government and social studies and graduate students planning teaching careers in those subjects are eligible. One fellow from each state receives up to $24,000 to help pay for graduate study leading to a master's degree in history, political science or education.
