I joined LIU in the fall of 2018 after serving as adjunct clinical faculty at NYU for six years while working in primary care in private practice, college health and virtual/telehealth.  I have taught a variety of classes at the undergrad level: pathophysiology, health assessment, med-surg lab, principles of nursing, healthcare systems and policy. At the graduate level I teach within the Adult NP program: diagnosis and management of illness and physical conditions of the adult I and II as well as the practicum sections associated with those courses and health care of the older adult. I started my health care career in psychologic research at Yale University first assessing physical and mental health needs of adults on probation and then with children assessing the neurobiological basis of reading ability and disability.  While in school for my NP I worked in acute rehab/long term care and with patients with dementia as a staff nurse and RN supervisor. I currently work part time at Project Renewal providing healthcare within the homeless shelter system in NYC. My clinical interests are LGBTQ health care, HIV PrEP/PEP, gender affirming hormone therapy for the trans* community, sexual health, eating disorders, medically assisted treatment for opioid addiction as well as preventative and primary care in adults. My doctoral project was on the incorporation of sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) collection into the EMR of a large college health center in NYC.
